Don't Tell Me I Can't......Join A Choir
WOMAN - UK
|October 29, 2018
GaynorBooth found singing to be a great way to relieve stress.
Standing on stage before a large audience, the barbershop choir I sing with belts out a high note, ending the song to perfection. Suddenly, a rush of endorphins overcome me and I quickly realise there isn’t anything better than singing with my friends. But being in a choir wasn’t something I’d ever pictured myself doing at 49.
Back in 2017, I was running my own finance business while David worked for Rolls Royce. Like most people, I enjoyed listening to music and singing along in the car with the radio, but would I ever let anyone hear me belt out a tune? No way!
Then, that July, we went on a break to Santorini to unwind. We had been out for a few drinks one evening when he woke me up around 1am with chest pains. It was his second heart attack in 10 years.
