Give a shabby old chest of drawers a new lease of life with chalky and satin furniture paint and a jazzy geometric repeat. You may already have a project to work on, but if not, check out your local car boot, charity furniture shop, or Facebook Marketplace for furniture.

Once you have your piece of furniture, you can create your own stencil design using a transparent stencil sheet and a craft knife – tessellating shapes like triangles work best or buy a ready-made design. Then you can set about personalising it with paint using our handy step-by-step guide.
