The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards tap into the power of humour by celebrating the less serious side of the animal kingdom. In doing so, they hope to promote a powerful conservation message.

The 2019 competition attracted more than 4 000 entries from 68 different countries. We’ve chosen some of our other favourites from among the finalists. Entering the 2020 competition is free and entries are open until 31 May. Remember that funny mongoose photo you took in the Kruger? It’s serving no purpose on your hard drive – send it in and maybe you’ll get people giggling all over the world.
