South African photographer takes prize-winning lion portrait in desirable destination
-
Renowned wildlife photographer Isak Pretorius has once again been placed in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year awards ceremony, which was hosted by the London Natural History Museum on 19 October. Selected from over 45,000 entries by expert judges, the images were awarded for their creativity, originality and technical excellence.
In 2013, Pretorius was the first South African to win Wildlife Photographer of the Year for bird behaviour. This year, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year has selected his image Cool Cat as one of the Highly Commended Images in its Animal Portrait category.
This year’s image of a lioness drinking water among blades of grass has been designated the preferred signature marketing image for the competition.
