Maine Mendoza is one of television’s most recognized faces, but before her big break as Yaya Dub from Eat Bulaga, Maine was a social media superstar due to popular lip-syncing app Dubsmash.
Mendoza uploaded videos of her lip-syncing to some of television and cinema’s most iconic moments. Shooting videos on her phone, then uploading them to social media racked Maine millions of views letting earn her the title of “Queen of Dubsmash” in the Philippines.
Maine caught the attention of Eat Bulaga producers who would cast her to the now iconic Yaya Dub, and the rest from there is history.
