Two British Divers Die In Canary Islands In A Week

TWO BRITISH DIVERS died on consecutive Saturdays in September while on holiday dives in the Canary Islands.

Johnny Walker, 54, from Co Durham was diving in southern Lanzarote on 16 September and was reportedly only minutes into his dive when he indicated to the accompanying guide that he felt unwell, and made an emergency ascent.
He was said to be having difficulty breathing by the time he was back on the dive-boat. The alarm was raised and Walker was brought back to Marina Rubicon harbour in Playa Blanca, a five-minute boat-ride from the dive-site.
