The Indian team for the ODI series against West Indies was recently announced. Rather shockingly, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been rested once again. Not only Rohit and Kohli, but even senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant have been rested for the one-day series in West Indies. Veteran opener Shikhar Dhawan has been named captain for the three-match ODI series against the Caribbean while Ravindra Jadeja, who struggled as leader in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2022) while leading the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has been named vice-captain. Young batters like Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shubman Gill have been included in the Indian squad for the West Indies one-day series instead of Kohli and Rohit.
