Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have featured in every edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) since the start of the tournament. They did not do well in the initial editions, but their fortunes turned around when former Captain Gautam Gambhir led them to title triumph in 2012. KKR won their second title under the same skipper in 2014. They blew hot and cold after that, putting up some commanding performances mixed with some equally poor ones. Last year, they played two different sets of cricket in the two editions. After struggling in the first half, they lifted themselves and ended up as runners-up.
