The Indian cricket team go into the ICC World Cup 2019 as the second-ranked ODI team in the world. The heavyweights are one of the title favorites and can actually challenge the likes of England and Australia for the coveted trophy. India has played a strong brand of cricket since the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017 and the consistency level will help Virat Kohli’s men in England and Wales.
India has only lost two major ODI series at home since the ICC Champions Trophy. The Men in Blue lost 1-2 against England in 2018. And then the side lost to Australia 2-3 in the five-match ODI series at home in March 2019. Apart from that, India is pretty sorted in the 50-over format. India does have a strong squad at their disposal and can give sides a run for their money. The recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019, also helped certain players to get some form ahead of the mega event.
