Recently, Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa opined that experienced fast bowler Jasprit Bumrahwould be the right choice to lead the country in Test matches. According to the 36-year-old,Bumrah has a sharp cricketing brain and, if given time at the top, he would get better withexperience. In Rohit Sharma's absence, Bumrah recently led India in the rescheduled Test against England in Birmingham. He was impressive for most part with his aggression, his tacticsand bowling changes. However, his credentials were questioned as England eased to victory onDay 5 despite India dominating the Test for the major part. Having said that, it would beinteresting to analyze whether Bumrah can make a good Test captain. World cricket has not been a great believer in fast bowlers taking over as captains of theirrespective nations in recent years. Of course, there was a time when the likes of Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Kapil Dev and Anil Kumble led.
