Mumbai Indians failed to relive their glory in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. The Rohit Sharma-led MI failed to reach the playoffs after finishing last in the league stage. MI were done and dusted when they scripted an unwanted record of posting eight successive losses from the start of IPL 2022. Their skipper had a forgettable campaign with the bat, and the bowling was weak as well. MI will need a serious approach next season and perhaps get going. We present the report card of MI.

In the league stage, MI finished last, having played 14 games. They collected four wins and suffered 10 losses. With 8 points and an NRR of -0.506, MI were outplayed and never quite got going. MI suffered eight successive defeats against DC, RR, KKR, RCB, PBKS, LSG, CSK, and LSG, respectively. They claimed two successive wins over RR and GT, respectively, post the string of defeats. They lost against KKR next before beating CSK. A defeat followed versus SRH, and MI finished off with a win versus DC.
