CELTIC’S Ivory Coast contingent got a boost in numbers last week when Vakoun Issouf Bayo joined the club on a four-year deal from Slovakian side, Dunajska Streda.

The 22-year-old forward, who has been in impressive goalscoring form, with 18 goals in 23 games, will link up with fellow countrymen, Eboue Kouassi and Kolo Toure, and having some familiar faces to welcome him will help the new Bhoy settle into life at Celtic.

Speaking to the Celtic View, Bayo revealed that he’s seen a few Celtic games since Kouassi joined the club.

The midfielder, who joined Celtic back in January 2017 from Russian side FC Krasnodar, is currently working his way back to fitness after suffering a knee injury earlier this season. And Bayo hopes that he will be able to help Kouassi in his rehabilitation.

“Injury is part of our lives as footballers, but it is the big enemy of any professional,” Bayo said. “You know it’s part of your career, but Eboue is really strong in his head and I’m convinced he is going to come back.
