British Riders Shine In Challenging Tour De Yorkshire

Tanfield and Bibby star, as Greg Van Avermaet takes overall title
Harry Tanfield and Ian Bibby put in two of many sparkling British performances at the Tour de Yorkshire last week, taking a stage victory and a sixth place overall finish respectively.
The fourth edition of the race was the most successful for British riders with the first home-rider stage win, a top 10 GC finish and second in the climbers’ jersey competition, arguably a better all-round performance than Adam Yates’s fourth place on GC in 2016.
Tanfield defied the odds to win from the breakaway on day one, as his parents found themselves celebrating in a stranger’s house, having not been able to get to the finish line in time.
