PC Shipments Decline After 2 Years of Pandemic-Fueled Growth

Despite the 5.1% decline, PC shipments in Q1 were still relatively high for the period and exceeded 80 million units for the seventh consecutive quarter, according to research firm IDC.
After two years of significant growth, the PC market saw a decline in shipments during the first quarter of this year; one cause is sagging demand from consumers and education buyers. Research firm IDC reports that PC shipments declined 5.1% between January and March 2022, following two years of pandemic-fueled double-digit growth.
