Suranne shines in scary sub plot

If you cast a famous actor in a big new show, we’ll be dumbstruck when you kill them off within minutes.

That’s what happened in BBC1’s exciting submarine thriller, Vigil, which began last Sunday and continued on Bank Holiday Monday.

Line of Duty’s Martin Compston played officer Craig Burke and was billed as one of the leading stars in the series. But Compston proved to be the show’s first red herring – Burke is found dead shortly after questioning his commander’s decisions, and just like that he’s written out of the show.
