Tokyo Games postponement takes pressure off Dutee Chand & others
PAST FEW months have been tumultuous for the entire world, and it has been no different for athletes worldwide who were finding it difficult to train or prepare for the Tokyo Olympics with everything getting chaotic around them amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Facing the brunt of qualification for over a year now, 100m sprinter Dutee Chand was no lesser pleased with the decision as she felt a rush of relief the moment she learnt that 2020 Olympics are finally off.
“I am really relieved because things were so uncertain for past few months. Every tournament kept getting cancelled, leaving me in dark if I will ever make it to Tokyo but now I am getting another year to prepare for it,” Dutee told MAIL TODAY.
