China says issue might not be a major topic when two leaders meet for an ‘informal summit’

In what might not go down well with Islamabad, China on Tuesday said that Kashmir as an issue might not be a “major topic” of discussion when the leadership of India and China meet for an ‘informal summit’ in India.

Despite the persistent campaign by Pakistan since the August 5 decision by India of revocation of “special status” of Jammu and Kashmir and notwithstanding the comments by Beijing at the United Nations Security Council meet, there is an understanding within both quarters that the relationship between India and China is much greater and significant and cannot be viewed from the prism of one nation alone.
