|September 21, 2023
THE GOVERNMENT WILL notify the Data Protection Board (DPB) and the rules of the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act within the next 30 days, minister of state for electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar said on Wednesday.
The companies are expected to be given about a year to comply with the provisions of the Act, the minister said. The Data Protection Board, which will handle the grievances and also take action against data fiduciaries in case of data breaches, will start taking up accumulated cases of data breaches right from the day the Act was passed.
