Dunn reaches 150 on return after red

TOM DUNN is determined to mark his 150th appearance in a Bath jersey – and his first game back from a three-week ban – with a win against Wasps.

Dunn reaches 150 on return after red

When Bath last played the Coventry-based side back in January, they were struggling for form and high-flying Wasps ran in seven tries to win 52-44 at The Rec.

Fast-forward three months and the roles have been reversed. Bath are full of confidence and still in contention for the play-offs while Wasps have lost nine of their last 11 and dropped off alarmingly.

“If we put seven tries on them this weekend, we’d be very happy,” said Dunn, who received the first red card of his career against London Irish last month for striking with the elbow.

“But class lasts – Wasps are a still a class team. We were still a class team at the start of the year but we just didn’t have the form. That comes through playing well, through having confidence, and having trust in each other.”

As for the milestone of 150 games, Bath local Dunn, 28, has got there through hard work.

He says: “A late positional change set me back two to three years compared to other 20-year-olds and that’s where some of the resilience and work ethic came from. Hopefully, that comes through now when I play. I’m proud and excited (to reach 150) and I want to mark it with a win.”
