Unlucky Motors are stalled
HEBBURN Town continued their run in the competition after they beat Vauxhall Motors in a penalty shoot-out.
The tie was the reverse of last season’s fourth-round clash and again it was Hebburn who ran out victors amid late drama.
Vauxhall edged ahead in injury-time only for Hebburn to equalise, the Motors then having Glenn Rule sent off.
Hebburn boss Kevin Bolam felt his side were fortunate to still be in the Vase and said: “I think we’ve got out of jail if I’m honest.
“Vauxhall shaded it in the second half, the only real intensity from our lads was in stoppage time. Vauxhall came up here and battled their socks off and they’ll feel aggrieved going back down to Merseyside out of the competition.”
