DEREK Adams ad-mitted to be-ing thrilled after Carlos Mendes Gomes inspired his Morecambe side to a come-from-behind triumph over a spirited Grimsby.
Adams saw his side trail 1-0 at the break thanks to Mattie Pollock’s 21st-minute header, but a brace from Mendes Gomes and a late goal from Adam Phillips saw the Shrimps claim another three points and maintain their play-off spot.
Adams said: “Today was always going to be a difficult game. The weather conditions were terrible and Grimsby certainly had the better of things in the first half.
“They got their goal, but we always knew we would be better in the second period with the conditions behind us.
