I'm Pregnant With Poo!

Standing in the supermarket queue, my stomach was suddenly gripped by crippling cramps.

The searing pains were so bad, my knuckles turned white as I gripped the trolley.

‘Quick! I need to get home right away,’ I whispered urgently to my mum Mary, 58.

We rushed to the car with my son DJ, who was then just a few months old.

Back home, I headed straight for the toilet. And only when I went did the pain start to fade.

It wasn’t the first time I’d experienced agony like that.

Since having a Caesarean with DJ, I’d been getting frequent pains in my stomach.

And, rather than getting flatter after he was born, my tummy was getting rounder and rounder.

I went to my GP but was told not to worry about it. So I carried on with life as a new mum and just hoped it’d go away.

Only, every few days, the crippling pains would return.

Awkward questions

Sometimes, I was in too much pain to get out of bed. And my tummy grew and grew, until I began to look like I was nine months pregnant all over again.

‘When are you due?’ a stranger asked me in the street one day.

I blushed, explaining I had a stomach problem that made my tummy so big – but she looked at me like I was mad.

I wanted the ground to swallow me up, and made my way home as quickly as I could.
