Aouran was born with a polycystic kidney disease

When my 6-month-old son Aouran began to suffer sickness and had a temperature a lot, I took him to the doctor. They thought I was just an over-protective mum, but I knew something wasn’t right.

And poor Aouran was vomiting all the time.

In October 2010, he was diagnosed with a severe E. coli tract infection.

We were referred to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where doctors found cysts in Aouran’s kidneys. Then they told us he had autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD).
