Scarlett Johansson 'In Life Sometimes You Win Or Lose'
The Malaysian Women\'s Weekly
|July 2017
Actress, mother and activist, Scarlett Johansson

Her first big breakthrough came with the indie hit Lost In Translation. She then spent several years as Woody Allen’s muse, most notably in Match Point and Vicky Cristina Barcelona, before her career seemed to run aground. But then she reinvented herself as an action star in The Avengers and Captain America films, not to mention Luc Besson’s Lucy, transforming herself into the world’s top-grossing actress whose films have earned over US$3.1 billion.
In the meantime, she took time out from Hollywood to marry French journalist, Romain Durac, move to Paris, have a baby, only to file for divorce and return to her native New York. But the independent-minded Scarlett appears undeterred by the vagaries of her love life and hasn’t skipped a beat when it comes to work.
Her new film, Rough Night, is a comedy that sees her join Zoë Kravitz, Kate McKinnon, Jillian Bell, and Ilana Glazer as part of a group of rowdy ladies whose bachelorette weekend takes an unexpected turn when they are forced to cover up a male stripper’s accidental death. Not only does the movie mark her first serious return to the comic genre since Allen’s Scoop (2006), but she gets to embrace her racier, sexier self in a way audiences have never seen before.
“I like doing comedy and letting loose at times,” Scarlett observes. “I had so much fun working with Woody Allen and I enjoy the chance to show my lighter sides.”
Scarlett, 32, is currently single and lives in New York with her 2-and-a-half-year-old daughter, Rose, and remains good friends with Durac whom she is currently in the process of divorcing. She recently appeared in Ghost In The Shell and is currently shooting Avengers: Infinity War, her latest outing as Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow.
