Google's AI To Help Prevent Blindness
Exhibit
|December 2018
Deep Mind, which happens to be an Artificial Intelligence (AI) company under Google’s ownership, is in the process of studying millions of pixels of information to prevent blindness caused due to glaucoma.
-

Reportedly, the company claims to have successfully prepared an algorithm that effectively works its way to prevent glaucoma by pointing at the early signs of the disease. Something that human specialists aren’t capable of currently, and hence in most cases, glaucoma patients actually seek medical help after the silent killing disease has set in. To make this research a wholesome success, Deep Mind has collaborated with National Health Service of UK and also with Moorfield Eye Hospital, London. These two medical organizations are chiefly the source of more than thousands of retina scans being studied on a 3D model. Besides glaucoma, the research shall also open up newer avenues in dealing with issues of macular degeneration.
