The Luckiest Mascot Of All

The Young Hoop who led the Bhoys out to stop 10-in-a-row.
-

THE day Celtic ‘stopped the 10’ will always be treasured memory for Ann McCaffrey and her Celtic-supporting family – and not just because the Hoops clinched the title.
For Ann’s daughter, Teri, was mascot on that dramatic day in Paradise when the Bhoys beat St Johnstone 2-0 in the final game of the season to pip Rangers to the championship.
Over the next 20 years, Ann has enjoyed many other magical moments as a Celtic fan, but nothing will eclipse that day for the HR Advisor from Bo’ness.
“It’s my best memory ever for being a Celtic fan, purely because Teri was the mascot that day,” she told the View. “Nothing will beat it for me, even being there for the 5-0 win against Rangers recently and how brilliant that was, and all the other memorable games there have been since then – nothing will top that for me.
“We were season ticket holders and Teri was a member of the Young Hoops Club and we got a letter about two weeks before the day, saying she had been chosen to be mascot on that day – May 9, 1998.
