KERR McInroy came to the Celtic Academy as a 12-year-old. Now, six years on and turning 18 at the end of the summer, the midfielder is working hard to achieve every Youth Academy player’s dream – to impress the manager, make it into the first team and continue his footballing career.

The pre-season trip to Austria was the first time McInroy had gone on tour with Celtic’s first team and he gained a wealth of experience from it.

“I was picked to go to Austria and it was such a good experience,” McInroy told the Celtic View. “I really enjoyed it and getting fit. I also got some minutes in the friendlies as well, so that was great and what I need. I learnt a lot from being with the first team, especially in the games.”

WHERE DO YOU HAIL FROM?

I’m from Dunfermline. I played with the Blue Brazil Boys’ Club before I joined Celtic when I was 12, and I went to Woodmill High school in Dunfermline. Then I went to study at St Ninian’s High School in Kirkintilloch, the school project at Celtic.
