McCrum Interior Design, who planned it out, managed to make it a space of clever contradictions: a small room that has the feel of an expansive bathroom, one that has an edgy, urban look, yet in tone is soft, subtle and natural. This fulfilled the clients’ brief to perfection: they had requested a haven of relaxation in their city flat. The apartment itself was very outdated when the clients purchased it; they quickly embarked on a process of refurbishment, with an updated bathroom as an essential component. Here, design director Katie McCrum and her team proposed a scheme that would mix classic and contemporary elements to suit the architecture and age of the building and also to match the rest of the upgrading that was taking place.
