MEANT TO BE Having first captured her heart back in 2013, the current owner of this characterful beach cottage was excited to see it was finally up for sale four years later. With her friend, and architect, Antonio Zaninovic in tow, she viewed the home to see if it measured up to her expectations. And it more than delivered. “We both fell in love with the cottage and the potential it had,” says the homeowner, who worked with Antonio to transform the interiors into a light-filled, relaxing haven. Case in point, the bright and airy living area – which is open plan to the dining area and kitchen – on the upper floor and opens out onto a balcony with panoramic views of the ocean. The sectional couch and ottoman (the ‘Montauk’ slipcover chaise sofa from Temple & Webster is a similar style) are slip-covered in Linara Thistledown washable linen from Romo. Cane furniture and a grass rug add texture to the space.
