Women Who Are Influencing Design

Dimple Motiani & Meetali Mehta Founders, 16th Avenue Interiors

Design comes organically to Dimple Motiani and Meetali Mehta, Founders and Principal Designers at 16th Avenue Interiors. Both have had a rather unconventional entry into the field. Having completed their education in business administration and civil engineering respectively, they eventually ventured into the field of interior design. The young designers envision 16th Avenue Interiors, founded in 2019, to be known as a design studio that is emotionally intelligent towards design, and for creating unique spaces that are forward-looking while transforming the meaning of ‘living and dwelling’.

“WE LOOK UP TO ZAHA HADID AND KELLY WEARSTLER. BOTH OF THEM HAVE BEEN REBELS AND RULE BREAKERS ALONG WITH BRINGING ABSOLUTE WONDER INTO THE WORLD OF DESIGN.”

“Both, Meetali and I have worked solo as freelancers until we finally decided to launch our firm 16th Avenue Interiors together. The first year was full of late nights and never-ending work but the journey has been nothing short of magical. Both of us have an undying passion for design, which makes us resonate with its power and how it can touch and transform people’s lives. Design is what literally governs habits, patterns, and lifestyles,” said Dimple, when explaining her love and passion for this industry.
