Ayurvedic Solution for Piles in Pregnancy

The body undergoes several changes when pregnant due to which there could be some health concerns. One such problem is constipation which can be irritating even early during pregnancy. If this condition is not addressed initially, as pregnancy progresses the baby’s growth increases pressure in the pelvis, aggravates the stretching and dilatation of the anal veins, and relaxes them because of which pregnant women are at a risk of developing piles in pregnancy.

What are piles/Arshas?

Our anal canal is a short muscular tube supported with blood supply through the blood vessels, supportive tissues, muscles and elastic fibers to the back passage of the rectum with the anus. We say one has piles when the tissue here becomes swollen as a result of straining on the toilet in form of masses, clumps cushions of tissue in the anal canal that can be painful and bleed if damaged.

How does it feel like when one has piles/ Arshas?

A hard lump may be felt around the anus which consists of coagulated blood and can be painful. The subject feels there is incomplete evacuation of the stools. She may see bright red blood after a bowel movement. Itching, pain, mucus discharge, redness and soreness can be some of the associated symptoms. A lump can sometimes be hanging down outside the anus which sometimes needs to be pushed inside after passing stools to avoid discomfort.

When there is increased pressure in the blood vessels in and around your anus it can cause the blood vessels in your back passage to become swollen inflamed. Many times the cause is due to too much straining on the toilet as a result of prolonged constipation. Depending on the bioenergy involvement the structure of the pile mass also varies
