Glow Season 3 Brought The F*cking Pot…

I’m a big fan of “GLOW: The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling” on Netflix. It’s a funny, well-written show with a lot of heart and a great cast.

The first two seasons were really good but I believe season 3 to be their best yet. Set in Las Vegas in 1986, it touches on a lot of topics including AIDs and The Challenger Disaster. The characters have settled into professional routines that allow for new adventures in their spare time, some being unique to Las Vegas casino living, that include compulsive gambling, mud wrestling, male prostitutes, drag shows, acting lessons, ballet, camping, and cannabis. There has always been a “more realistic than not” feel to GLOW when it comes to depictions of casual drug use. It’s the mid 1980s after all, so a lot of chain smoking and cocaine use is easy to believe. The characters also drink a lot, have sex a lot, and occasionally they smoke weed. It’s usually a joint, which was always how people were seen using cannabis in movies made in the 1980s. &
