Midsomer Murders is famous for its inventive killings, and this week’s episode begins with a macabre death when butterfly collector Mahesh Sidana is asphyxiated and pinned to the wall through his abdomen, like one of his specimens.

The specific cause of death is an industrial drill bit powering through his ‘pericardial cavity’, according to new pathologist Fleur Perkins, who’s played by Annette Badland, AKA EastEnders’ Aunt Babe.
