Daniel Mays and Stephen Graham join forces for a futuristic crime comedy about a robotic detective

Between them, Daniel Mays and Stephen Graham have plenty of experience in playing TV detectives – including roles in White House Farm, Little Boy Blue and Ashes to Ashes – while both actors have also starred in hard-hitting crime drama Line of Duty.

Now, the pair team up to play detectives in Sky One’s new futuristic comedy Code 404. The six-parter features Mays as DI John Major, who’s working undercover on a sting operation for the Special Investigations Unit alongside his partner and best mate DI Roy Carver (Graham). But tragedy strikes when their cover is blown and Major is shot dead, leaving his wife Kelly (Anna Maxwell Martin) devastated.

A year later, however, Major is chosen as the prototype for an experimental police artificial-intelligence project and successfully brought back to life. But this version of the detective is still very much a work in progress – and, as he rejoins partner Carver to track down more criminals, chaos ensues.
