Happy Returns

John McEnroe won seven Grand Slam singles titles in his illustrious tennis career. But he’s still best remembered for his epic 1981 Wimbledon meltdown when he bellowed, ‘You cannot be serious!’ after his shot was called out, before telling umpire Edward James he was ‘the pits of the world’.

The outburst during his first-round match against Tom Gullikson made headlines around the world and was the talk of that Summer as McEnroe went on to beat rival Björn Borg to the title.

However, when old friend Sue Barker meets up with McEnroe (who she affectionately calls Mac) in New York for this documentary about his life to mark his 60th birthday, she finds he’s pretty chilled out these days.
