Former Doctor Who star Freema Agyeman is a medical high-flier in a new US hospital drama

British actors such as Hugh Laurie and Freddie Highmore have found success as US TV doctors, and now Freema Agyeman joins them in Amazon Prime Video’s New Amsterdam (the first 14 episodes are released 8 February and a new episode will then become available each Wednesday).

The drama follows Dr Max Goodwin (The Blacklist’s Ryan Eggold), the latest medical director at the New Amsterdam hospital in New York, where he shakes up the system to provide a better service to his patients.
