Mindy Kaling adapts much-loved movie Four Weddings and a Funeral for TV

Steve McQueen’s motorbike stunt in epic 1963 war film The Great Escape is one of the most iconic moments in movie history, as the star, playing an escaping prisoner of war, attempts to jump border fences between Germany and Switzerland.

Now motorbike racer Guy Martin is on a mission to re-create the stunt, but with a twist. This time, he hopes the escape bid will succeed…

‘The movie saw British, American and Commonwealth officers getting dropped off at Stalag Luft III in Germany,’ says Martin. ‘As soon as they get there, they are all concocting ideas to try to get out of the camp.

‘They dig three long tunnels from three huts, and then the adventure really starts with what the escapees have to do with their costumes and fake IDs to get out of Germany.’
