Katherine Parkinson plays a cynical, sharp-tongued barrister in a new legal sitcom.

Comedy In Court

Barristers battling it out in courtroom scenes have been at the heart of many legal and crime dramas over the years. Now a new comedy, Defending the Guilty, gently mocks these legal eagles.

Written by Cuckoo co-creator Kieron Quirke, the six-part series centres on cynical defence barrister Caroline (Humans’ Katherine Parkinson) and her young trainee, Will (Flowers star Will Sharpe).

While navigating a confusing criminal justice system, Will is also fighting it out for a permanent job at Caroline’s chambers with three equally ambitious young trainees.

Parkinson, 41, tells us more…

How would you describe Caroline?
