Martial arts meets mysticism in Netflix’s action-packed new supernatural drama Wu Assassins.

The 10-part series is set in San Francisco’s Chinatown and centres on Kai Jin, an unassuming young chef, played by Iko Uwais, the Indonesian star of 2011 martial-arts film The Raid.

Kai’s life is turned upside down when a mysterious stranger informs him that he has been chosen to become a formidable Wu Assassin, which means he’s imbued with the powers of 1,000 monks who, in centuries past, sacrificed themselves to prevent ancient warlords from destroying the world.
