MONDAY, FEB. 21, 10/9c, NBC
In this cat-and-mouse thriller,“the cat is a captive and the mouse has to figure out how she's being controlled," says executive producer Nicholas Wootton. Glamorous international criminal Elena Federova (Homeland's Morena Baccarin) is held at an übersecure FBI black site, but when we meet her, she's unleashed her gang to take control of NYC's leading banks. Dedicated FBI agent Val Turner (Ryan Michelle Bathe, All Rise)-so ethical that she turned her husband in for a bribe-saw Elena's handiwork in Africa and understands that the robberies are part of a mysterious master plan she is determined to disrupt. The question, says Wootton, "is whether Elena is doing bad things or actually something good. There's a lot of intrigue, but the [story's] heart really is the relationship between these women." - Ileane Rudolph
SUPER PUMPED: THE BATTLE FOR UBER
Sunday, Feb. 27,10/9c, Showtime
Rides goeth before a fall in this tale of billionaire Uber CEO Travis Kalanick (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), who presided over a toxic, sexist atmosphere at the ride-hailing company he helped found before being forced out in 2017. To prepare, the actor talked to colleagues of the entrepreneur. "He made spectacularly bad choices, but he [was also] beloved by a lot of his team. That complexity made him intriguing,"Gordon-Levitt says. The show, which costars Kyle Chandler, is about more than Uber. "Dudes preaching 'Win at all costs!' at the biggest tech companies are not doing good for the world." - KH

THE ROAD
“I'll be honest, I wasn’t exactly dying to do another singing show,” admits Blake Shelton, who was a coach on The Voice for 23 seasons before departing in 2023. So why did the country superstar want to join a brand-new competition series? “[Executive producer] Lee Metzger and I started kicking around this idea: What if we built a show that actually looked like what it takes to make it as an artist?” Shelton explains. “Sleeping on buses, playing for crowds that didn’t buy a ticket to see you, writing songs that may or may not pay the bills. That’s real.”
