But judging by this first instalment of children’s series The Ghost Hunter Chronicles, she still hasn’t got the hang of it.

Best friends Eve, Tom and Clovis fancy themselves as paranormal investigators, so on Halloween night they lie to their parents and sneak out to a haunted house. After the glass on their Ouija board flies across the room, they run home terrified, only to find that something has followed them. Scary? It should be, but the identity of the ghost is uncovered too quickly. Then all that’s left to do is for the kids to enlist Eve’s eccentric uncle to hold their hand while they walk through a series of darkened rooms, screaming at shadows.
