GEORGE A. ROMERO TO COMPILE A SET OF ZOMBIE SHORT STORIES

George A. Romero, the Godfather of the Dead, is showing no signs of leaving the genre he helped birth behind him. As well as a brand new zombie film that will see the dead drive cars (more on this later), he is set to edit an anthology of zombie short stories titled Nights of the Living Dead.

Along with the New York Times bestselling author Jonathan Maberry, Romero will compile a range of short stories that are set during the 48-hours of his undead outbreak in Night of the Living Dead; the game changing satirical zombie horror from 1968.

Romero and Maberry have contributed their own short stories to join those written by Brian Keene, Carrie Ryan, Chuck Wendig, Craig E. Engler, David J. Schow, David

Wellington, Isaac Marion, Jay Bonansinga, Joe R. Lansdale, John A. Russo, John Skipp, Keith R.A. DeCandido, Max Brallier, Mike Carey, Mira Grant, Neal and Brenda Shusterman and Ryan Brown.

It sounds like a must-have for fans of horror and Romero’s defining blend of stonecold horror and social commentary, but also those that crave more from those walking dead.

Nights of the Living Dead will be available from July 11th.

NICK FROST AND SIMON PEGG TO COLLABORORATE ON SLAUGHTERHOUSE RULEZ

The Shaun of the Dead duo, Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, are returning to horror-comedy with Slaughterhouse Rulez. The film will be directed by Crispian Mills, the front-man of the psychedelic rock band Kula Shaker. This will not be Mills’ first directorial endeavour, because he is also the director of the 2012 Pegg-starrer A Fantastic Fear of Everything.
