At present, Indian healthcare is urban-centric. While, close to 70 percent of the Indian population lives in rural areas, only two percent qualified medical doctors are available in these areas as per the National Health Accounts in India. Needless to mention that this situation needs to be reformed by giving more emphasis on both, developing medical infrastructure, and increasing the number of doctors and other professionals in the medical domain.
