Late Autumn Days

Stir the senses with a woodland stroll says the National Trust’s Hannah Elliott

At the start of November, late autumn colour has reached its peak and the oak and beech leaves are turning flame orange, yellow and gold – before they fall for another year. If we’re lucky enough to have a bright autumn morning, the golden light on the oaks is mesmerizing.
Beautiful, natural and historic places matter for our sprit, our wellbeing and our relationships and visiting a woodland is great for both body and soul. An autumn woodland glowing with colour and rich with the smell of damp earth is a wonderful, uplifting place to be and we can all play our part in ensuring they continue to thrive.
