Jone: the start of meteorological summer, with the promise of hazy days and gentle heat. The mackerel migration is in full swing, and the fields are filled with fresh strawberries, gooseberries and many coloured currants, all ripe for the picking. Nothing epitomises a dreamy June day for me like a sheet of crisp linen laid out on freshly cut grass, ready for a summer picnic.
