Cloud; Internet of Things (IoT);Artificial Intelligence (AI); Big Data; Machine Learning – these and so many more trends are now dictating how the ICT industry is moving forward. Amazon, from its early days, experienced, understood, and took the lead to develop and implement these transformative trends. Most, of course, will know the front-end efforts – fully automated store-front, Alexa enabled home platforms, and AI-powered chatbots for customer services.

With digital innovation and ICT, there is more to the story. What goes on behind the scene enables these progressive features to operate at their max potential. From analysing user behaviour to employing advanced solutions that engage these findings, the bank-end infrastructure are the empowerment factors.

But what does Amazon, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS), put out to make this all work? How can businesses emulate AWS and translate the user data into actionable material? PC.com had a quick chat with Michael Garcia, Senior Technical Program Manager, AWS IoT, to learn where AWS is heading; specifically, in the IoT space and related industry sectors. While loads of discussion points, here are some of the pertaining aspects that came up.
