After last year’s phenomenal iPhone redesign (step forward iPhone 12), it would be churlish to expect too much from its successor, especially given what the world has been through since October 2020. But here we are, and here it is – Apple’s incredible smartphone flagship, the iPhone 13 Pro.

Where the iPhone 12 was a radical overhaul of what went before, with a new flat-sided design, new materials (including Ceramic Shield) and a new camera system, the iPhone 13 feels much more incremental – it’s the ‘tock’ to the iPhone 12’s ‘tick’ in Apple’s iPhone tick/tock development cycle. In times gone by it would simply have been named the iPhone 12s, and yet and yet…
