Aoling Festival

Every year, in the first week of April, the Mon district in the eastern corner of Nagaland wears a festive look.

This is the time when the Konyak people of Nagaland celebrate the ‘Aoling ‘festival. The Konyak are well known and rather famous. This was due to a practice that they followed in the past…. it was the practice of head hunting!
