Kelly Clarkson: ‘ I'm So Broken'

The singer admits she’s struggling and not looking for love

Kelly Clarkson wore no makeup, a satin robe and a sleep mask perched atop her unstyled hair. “This is what I look like,” she said via video to Taraji P. Henson, who was guest-hosting the singer’s talk show while she quarantined at home on Feb. 15. “I broke a nail…. I’m so broken. This is me broken.”

She was only half-joking. “It’s been the worst couple of years of Kelly’s life, and she’s just overwhelmed — she can’t take much more stress,” says a source, adding that the pandemic, her ongoing divorce battle with ex Brandon Blackstock and her lackluster love life have taken a significant toll on the mom of two. “Plus, she’s turning 40 in a couple of months! She’s in a really dark place.”
