How the couple got through their toughest year together

They’ve been through one of the worst things a parent can go through, but five months on from their devastating pregnancy loss and Chrissy Teigen and John Legend have never been closer. “We’ve been through so many challenges together and they’ve made [us] stronger,” Legend, 42, has said of their ordeal. “And I know that doesn’t always happen when people go through tragedy.”

In late September, the couple were forced to say goodbye to their son Jack just over halfway through their pregnancy after Teigen, 35, was diagnosed with a partial placenta abruption. “You really don’t know the meaning of the word ‘unimaginable’ until something like that happens to you,” the former model previously shared of the loss. “And then afterwards, there’s such a spiral of things you could’ve done differently and you start to get really tough on yourself.”
